With 22 parks, more than 70 miles of trails and 2,000 acres of natural open-space areas, and private hiking/biking trails in the 874 acres of HRCA’s Backcountry Wilderness Area, Highlands Ranch is home to active people and a diverse wildlife population. In fact, 85 percent of homes in Highlands Ranch are located within a quarter-mile of a park, open-space area or trail. The community contains approximately 25 acres of park land per 1,000 residents.
